ASPECT: noun – the position of planets or stars with respect to one another held by astrologers to influence human affairs
With respect to Merriam-Webster, the definition for the word itself is dead on in regards to this DJ. Hailing from Northeastern PA, Aspect is steadily proving that he is a star to watch for and is certainly an influence on the Drum & Bass scene.
Being baptized into EDM in the form of Break-Beats via a DJ Icey mix CD, he became hooked on various genres including: House, Techno, and Trance. It wasn’t until attending a party in Philly that someone gave him a mix CD introducing him to Drum & Bass, and he admits, “even though I wasn’t instantly hooked, It touched me.”
From that moment he began his search for different forms of electronic music, and it wasn’t long before he started to DJ. Initially he began spinning deeper forms of House and Techno before friends and future crew members (Basixx and Kai-Lo) encouraged him to start playing D&B, which he’s been dropping ever since. “I’ve been playing different styles of D&B such as Neurofunk, Jump-Up, and Liquid, before finding my way back to straight Techstep. Aspect sites getting his official start after friends asked him to start spinning at their events.
He is one of the original members of the Sector One crew and a resident DJ at regular crew events: FORWARD and RAGE (NEPA monthly and bi-weekly parties respectively). He has been an active part of MayDay since its inception and currently serves as both a committee member and co-lead organizer of the Drum & Bass stage.
